Add an MCP from the Library

The Library has ready-made connectors. Add one to My MCPs so your agents and chats can use it.

Before you start

Have any credentials the connector needs, such as an API key. Some fields have a How to get this link.

Steps

  1. In MCP Builder, select the Library tab.
  2. Find the connector. Type in Search library... to filter. The Auth column shows what kind of credentials it needs.
  3. Select the connect button on its row. The Add name MCP dialog opens.
  4. Check MCP Name. It is filled in for you. It can use letters and numbers only, with no spaces or special characters, up to 100 characters.
  5. Optional: add a Description of up to 500 characters.
  6. Enter the credentials the connector needs. Required fields are marked with an asterisk.
  7. Under Scope, select User — visible only to you or Account — visible to everyone in your account.
  8. If you chose Account scope, select the Access:
    • Read — others can view and run, but not modify
    • Full — others can edit and delete like the owner
  9. Optional: add tags with Select tags….
  10. Optional: select Test Connection to check the credentials. See Test an MCP connection.
  11. Check the tools preview. Untick any tool you don't want. If the preview asks for credentials first, fill them in and select List tools now.
  12. Select the add button to add the MCP.

Your credentials are stored on your account and used to call the connector on your behalf.

Add a Google connector

  1. On the Library tab, select the connect button on a Google connector.
  2. Check the list of access the connector needs.
  3. Select Connect Google Account and sign in with Google.

ScoutIT AI keeps the connection authorised until you disconnect it.
