Build a dashboard from an MCP

Turn an MCP's tools into dashboard widgets.

Before you start​

You need to be able to edit the MCP. See Edit an MCP.

Build a dashboard​

  1. Open the MCP in the tool editor. See Work with MCP tools.
  2. Select Build Dashboard. The Add Custom Dashboard dialog opens.
  3. In Dashboard Name, type a new name or pick an existing dashboard.
  4. Under Select tools, tick the tools to add. Some tools need parameters before you can select them.
  5. Select Create.

The widgets are generated and the dashboard opens.

Add a chart to a dashboard​

  1. Open a tool in the tool editor and select Execute.
  2. In the response, open the Chart tab.
  3. Select + Add to Dashboard. The Add chart to dashboard dialog opens.
  4. Enter a Widget title.
  5. Choose the Dashboard.
  6. Select Add widget.

Troubleshooting​

  • This MCP has no tools yet. Add tools to its connector first. add tools. See Work with MCP tools.
  • Pick an existing dashboard or type a name. choose a dashboard.
  • Run the tool and pick a chart or table view before adding. select Execute, then choose a chart.
  • Could not add the widget. Please try again. try again.
