Logs in Agent Chat
The Chat Logs screen lists every question you asked in Agent Chat, newest first. Open a question to see what was sent, what came back, and a step-by-step trace. Use it to check why a reply looks the way it does, or why a turn failed.
Open Chat Logs
- In AI Studio, open the Agent Ops menu and select Agent Chat.
- On the side rail, select Logs.
The heading shows Chat Logs and how many turns are listed.
Choose model or agent chats
Select Model or Agent to switch between the two kinds of chat:
- Model lists questions you asked a model directly.
- Agent lists questions you asked an agent.
Filter and search
- In model logs, select All, Success or Failed to filter by outcome.
- Use the Models or Agents filter to show only some models or agents. Type in Search models… or Search agents… to find one, and use Select all or Clear to change every option at once.
- Type in the search box to find a question by its text, or by the model or agent name.
The list shows 10 turns per page. Use ‹ Prev, Next › or a page number to move between pages.
Read a log
Each row shows the outcome (success, failed or stopped), or an Agent badge for agent chats. It also shows the question, the model or agent name, and the time.
Select a row to expand it. The detail has these tabs:

| Full trace | The complete trace for the turn. Type in Search trace… to find text in it. | All turns. |
| Model call | The request and response for the turn's model call. | Model chats. |
Select Copy on a block to copy its contents.
Select the row again to collapse it.
Troubleshooting
- No logs yet. Ask a model a question and it will show up here. start a model chat, then come back.
- No agent chats yet. Start a conversation with an agent and it will show up here. start an agent chat, then come back.
- No logs match this filter. change or clear your search or filters.
- Couldn't load logs. Please try again. reload the page.
- This turn's trace is no longer available. the detail for this turn can't be shown any more.
