Enable, disable or delete an agent
Enable an agent so it responds in chats, automations and Mission Control. Disable it to stop it responding. Delete it to remove it permanently.
Agent statuses
| Status | Meaning |

| Draft | The agent is saved but not turned on yet. New agents start here. |
| Activating | The agent is being turned on. It appears in Agent Chat and other agent pickers once it is ready. |
| Active | The agent responds to test chats, automations and Mission Control. |
| Stopped | The agent is turned off. |
Before you start
- Only the agent's creator can enable or disable a private agent.
- Only the agent's owner can delete it.
Enable an agent
- On the Agents screen, open the Actions menu on the agent's row.
- Select Enable Agent.
- In the Enable this agent? dialog, select Enable Agent.
The message Agent Activate in Progress. This might take 1-2 minutes. appears. While the agent starts, the menu shows Activation in progress. When it finishes, the status changes to Active.
Disable an agent
- On the Agents screen, open the Actions menu on the agent's row.
- Select Disable Agent.
- In the Disable this agent? dialog, select Disable Agent.
The agent stops responding to test chats, automations and Mission Control until you enable it again. Work already in flight is not cancelled.
Delete an agent
- On the Agents screen, open the Actions menu on the agent's row.
- Select Delete Agent.
- In the Delete agent? dialog, select Delete.
This permanently removes the agent along with its automations and chat history. It can't be undone.
Troubleshooting
- Cannot delete agent: the agent is used in a swarm or a workflow. The dialog lists each one. Remove the agent from them, then try again. See Edit or delete a swarm and Edit a workflow.
- Delete Agent is greyed out: only the agent's owner can delete it.
- only the agent's creator can activate or stop a private agent: ask the agent's creator to do it.
