MCP Builder
MCP connectors give your agents and chats tools that call other systems. The MCP Builder screen lists your MCPs and a Library of ready-made connectors.
Open MCP Builder
- In AI Studio, open the Agent Ops menu.
- Select MCP Builder.
What you see
- My MCPs lists the MCPs you can use. Library lists ready-made connectors you can add. See Add an MCP from the Library.
- The header shows how many MCPs you have and how many are in the Library.
- Select Create MCP to build a new MCP. See Create an MCP from an API.
- Type in Search MCPs by name or URL to filter as you type. On the Library tab, use Search library....
- Select Grid view or List view to change the layout.
List view
| Column | What it shows |

| Name | The MCP's name and owner. Select it to open the tool editor. See Work with MCP tools. |
| Scope | Who can use the MCP, for example Private, Org · Read or Org · Full. |
| URL | The MCP's base URL. |
| Tools | How many tools it has. |
| Used by | Which agents and schedules use it. |
| Tags | Its tags. |
| Status | Enabled or Disabled. If you can edit the MCP, select the status to switch it. |
| Updated | When it was last changed. |
| Action | The row menu. |
Grid view
Each MCP appears as a card with its status, name, URL, tags, tool count, scope and usage. A Google MCP that needs signing in again shows Reconnect needed. Select Reconnect to sign in again.
Filter by sharing
On My MCPs, open Filter by sharing and select one of:
- All
- Mine
- Shared with me
- Shared by me
- Shared with Org
Filter by tag
- Open the tag filter. It shows All tags when nothing is selected.
- Select one or more tags, or Select all. Select Untagged MCPs to include MCPs with no tags.
- Select Apply.
Select Clear to remove the filter. Select Manage tags to create, rename or delete tags. See MCP Tags.
Row actions
Open the actions menu on an MCP to see:
- History: see View MCP history.
- Share: shown to the owner of a private MCP. See Share an MCP.
- Edit: see Edit an MCP.
- Delete: see Delete an MCP.
Edit and Delete appear if you own the MCP, or if it is shared with your organisation with full access.
Groups
Some MCPs are grouped together, for example when you create several MCPs from one API. A group shows how many MCPs and tools it holds. Expand it to see the MCPs inside. See Edit an MCP.
Troubleshooting
- No MCPs yet. Click Create MCP to add the first one. select Create MCP, or add one from the Library.
- If no MCPs match your search, clear or change your search text and filters.
- Could not load MCPs. reload the page. If it continues, contact support.
