Share an MCP

Share a private MCP so other people get their own copy of it.

Before you start​

  • You must own the MCP, and its scope must be private (User).
  • Each person you pick gets their own copy to edit, rename or delete. The copy arrives without your credentials, so they add their own.
  • Sharing is final. You can't take a copy back, and deleting your MCP doesn't affect theirs.

Steps​

  1. In MCP Builder, open the actions menu on the MCP.
  2. Select Share.
  3. Under Add people, type in Search by name or email and pick each person.
  4. Select Share.

What happens next​

A message confirms the MCP was shared. The people you picked appear under Already sent to the next time you open Share.

Troubleshooting​

  • Share is missing from the menu: you don't own the MCP, or it is shared with your account rather than private.
  • Everyone in this account already has a copy. there is nobody left to share with.
  • Could not share this MCP. try again.
