Start a chat

Start a new conversation in Agent Chat and pick who answers it.

Before you start​

Start a chat with a model​

  1. In Agent Chat, select New chat.
  2. Select Model Chat, or select Model in the mode switch.
  3. Choose a model from the model list.
  4. Optional: choose how the model answers from the chat mode list. See Model chat modes.
  5. Type your question in Ask anything....
  6. Press Enter or select Send message. Press Shift+Enter to add a new line.

Start a chat with an agent​

  1. In Agent Chat, select New chat.
  2. Select Agent Chat, or select Agent in the mode switch.
  3. Select Select an agent and pick the agent. Type in Search agents… to find it.
  4. Type your question in Chat with your agent....
  5. Press Enter or select Send message.

Start a chat with a swarm​

  1. In Agent Chat, select New chat.
  2. Select Swarm Chat, or select Swarm in the mode switch.
  3. Select Select a swarm and pick the swarm.
  4. Type your question in Chat with your swarm....
  5. Press Enter or select Send message.

Model chat modes​

In a model chat, you can choose how the model answers:

Power ModeEnhance your prompt before sending. Select Enhanced prompt on a reply to see what was actually sent.
Smart RoutingAuto-pick the best model for the question.
Beast Mode: CompareAsk 2-3 models side-by-side.
Beast Mode: SynthesizeCombine multiple models into one answer.
ThinkingReason step-by-step before answering. Select Show thinking on a reply to see the reasoning.

For Beast Mode: Compare and Beast Mode: Synthesize, use Select models to pick two or three models. Type in Search models… to find one.

Chat in a project​

Use the project list to choose a project for the chat. If a project assigns an agent, the chat uses that agent and shows Agent assigned by the project.

Stop a reply​

Select Stop generating while a reply is being written. If you stop before any answer arrives, you see Generation stopped.

What happens next​

The reply appears in the conversation. Progress text such as Generating a response… shows while it is being written.

After a conversation starts, you can't change its mode or model mode. Start a new chat to change them.
