MSP Observability

MSP Observability rolls up RPI Scores from every child account you manage, so you can compare the companies side by side. Use it to find the company with the lowest score and see what's affecting it.

Before you start​

  • Open MonitorIT → MSP Observability.
  • You only see MSP Observability in the menu if your account has child accounts.
  • If you're new to the RPI Score, read What is the RPI Score? first.

What's on the page​

  • Company Rollup. A panel with totals across all child accounts: Child Accounts, Average RPI, Applications and Security Boundary.
  • The score panel. Its heading changes with the tab, for example RPI Score™ by Sub Accounts. The line under the heading shows how many items and child accounts are included.

Choose what to compare​

  1. Select a tab: Sub Accounts, Applications, Locations or Services.
  2. On the Applications, Locations and Services tabs, use Company to choose All or a single company.
  3. Choose a Time Range: Last 1 hour, Last 6 hours, Last 24 hours, Last 7 days or Last 30 days. The default is Last 24 hours.
  4. Choose a Sort order: Score Low-High, Score High-Low or Company. The default is Score Low-High.

Scores use the same colour bands as My Observability: green from 98.00, amber from 95.00 to 97.99, and red below 95.00.

Change the layout​

Select one of the icons at the top right of the score panel:

  • Detail view shows one row per item, with a score bar.
  • Grid view shows one card per item.
  • List view shows a table. On the Sub Accounts tab the columns are Company, Primary Deduction, Applications and RPI. On the other tabs they are Application (or Location or Service), Context, Status and RPI.

Drill into a company​

  1. Select the Sub Accounts tab and Detail view.
  2. Select a company row, or select + at the end of the row.
  3. Wait for Loading detail to finish.
  4. Review the company detail:
    • Company RPI and a short summary.
    • Totals for the company, such as Applications, Locations and Deduction.
    • Deductions, listing each active dimension and the applications it affects. If there are none, you see No active deductions.
    • Locations, with a score for each location.
    • Applications, with a score and summary for each application.

Drill into an application, location or service​

  1. Select the Applications, Locations or Services tab and Detail view.
  2. Select a row, or select + at the end of the row.
  3. Review the RPI for the item and its details, including the Sub Account it belongs to.

Troubleshooting​

  • The menu item is missing. Your account has no child accounts, so the screen isn't available. If you expected to see it, contact support.
  • No materialized scores in this view. No scores exist for this tab and company in the selected window. Try a longer Time Range, or set Company to All.
  • Company not found. The company is no longer in the rollup. Reload the page.
  • No locations in window. The company has no location scores in the selected window.
