My Alerts

My Alerts lists the alerts raised across your applications and monitoring points in a time frame. Use it to see what has fired, how serious it is, and which threshold it crossed.

Before you start​

  • Open MonitorIT → My Alerts.
  • Alerts come from your alert policies. If you see no alerts, check that a policy is active. See Manage alert policies.

Read the summary cards​

The cards at the top of the page count the alerts that match your current filters:

Total AlertsAll matching alerts, with the time frame underneath.
DangerAlerts that crossed the danger threshold.
CautionAlerts that crossed the caution threshold.
ApplicationsHow many different applications raised alerts.
MPHow many different monitoring points raised alerts.

Filter and search alerts​

  1. Choose a TimeFrame: Last 24 Hours, Last 7 Days or Last 30 Days. The default is Last 24 Hours.
  2. Choose Filter Alert By: All Alerts, Application Alerts or Service Alerts.
  3. Type in Search application, MP, or metric to narrow the list. The search matches the application name, the monitoring point name and the metric name.

The summary cards and the table update each time you change a filter.

Read the alerts table​

ColumnWhat it shows
StatusDanger or Caution.
ApplicationThe application the alert is for.
MPThe monitoring point that measured it.
Metric NameThe metric that crossed a threshold.
Metric ValueThe measured value.
Applicable AppThe scope of the policy that raised the alert.
SourceWhere the alert came from.
CommunicationThe channel the alert was sent to.
Last UpdatedWhen the alert was raised, in your local time.

The table is sorted by Last Updated, newest first. To sort by another column, select its heading. Select it again to reverse the order.

Open an alert's detail​

  1. Select the arrow at the start of the row.
  2. Review the detail panel:
    • Metric Name and Metric Value.
    • Monitoring Point and Application.
    • Caution Threshold and Danger Threshold, so you can see how far over the limit the value was.
    • Status and Message.
    • From and To, the period the alert covers.
  3. Select the arrow again to close the detail.

Move between pages​

  • Use ‹ Prev and Next › to move between pages.
  • Use Rows to show 10/page, 25/page, 50/page or 100/page. The default is 10/page.

Troubleshooting​

  • No alerts in this view. Nothing matches the filters. Choose a longer TimeFrame, set Filter Alert By to All Alerts, or clear the search.
  • Alerts aren't appearing for an application. Check that an active alert policy covers the application. See Manage alert policies.
